Getting here

By public transport
Tooting Broadway underground station on the Northern Line is a ten minute walk from the main pedestrian entrance on Effort Street, or a short ride on bus routes 493 or G1.

National Rail services from Tooting station are linked to the hospital by bus routes 44, 77, 264, 270, 280 and N44.

By car
If you are driving to the hospital, entry points are Blackshaw Road, off the A24 Tooting High Street, or Fountain Road, off the A217 Garrett Lane.

Car parking is pay upon exit and the tariff is as follows:

Up to one hour £2.50
Up to two hours £5.00
Up to three hours £7.50
Up to four hours £10.00
Up to five hours £12.50
Up to six hours £15.00
Up to seven hours £17.50
Up to eight hours £20.00
Over eight hours (daily fixed rate) £25.00

22:00 and 06:00

Card payments transactions at Security Desk only (Ground floor Grosvenor wing, near Marks and Spencers)


St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust operates a civil penalty parking notice scheme on the St George’s Hospital site. Please check sign for parking restrictions.

Blue badge holders may park free in:

Any of the reserved disabled spaces available near the entrances of the hospital wings - please display your badge
Any white-painted bay on the hospital perimeter road - please display your badge
The public car parks. The badge holder must take the car park ticket and blue badge to the security desk in Grosvenor Wing or the reception desk in Atkinson Morley Wing before they leave the hospital. The staff will tell the badge holder how to exit the car park without paying. It is not necessary to display you badge when in the car parks
If you need assistance on arrival, please tell the reception staff. They can arrange for a porter to help you, though please understand you may have to wait for this

Free cycle parking facilities can be found at a number of locations on the hospital perimeter road

What is a Mammography


The Rose Centre opened in 2011. This modern facility provides Breast Screening for women local to St.Georges Hospital. The centre is also a diagnostic centre for all women screened in South West London. Having been formerly based at the Duchess of Kent Unit for many years it was a welcome move to this site.
